ORGANIC WASTE COLLECTION

ORGANIC WASTE COLLECTION

The use of MATER-BI bags allows a combination of environmental sustainability with the management and disposal of waste plus economic benefits for local government authorities, waste treatment plants and citizens.

Thanks to its characteristics and features - biodegradability, compostability, transparency, resistance to humidity and pathogens - bags in MATER-BI have proved to be a key tool to encourage the separate collections of organic waste.
The MATER-BI bag is transformed into compost, thus allowing an increase in the quality of the organic fraction collected, avoiding the contamination of compost with plastic waste, and also permitting treatment of the organic fraction in any type of composting plant (from simple static piles to dynamics lanes).

Using the vented kitchen bin system a MATER-BI bag also provides significant improvements in the performance collection of organic waste. Thanks to the high breathability of the system which helps reduce the fermentation processes responsible for  bad smells, and a constant elimination of condensation that can accumulate on the bottom of the traditional closed bin, reducing the amount of water in the organic waste. Compared to the traditional system based on the curbside bins collection, the door-to-door collection system of organic food and garden waste.

The bags also help keep the consumers organic waste collection bins clean and reduce or eliminate the need for regular cleaning/jet washing.
