NOVAMONT participates to the workshop “Industrial biotechnology in support of the UK Bioeconomy”
The Italian model of bio-economy will be presented at the "Industrial biotechnology workshop in support of the UK Bioeconomy", that will be held on 28 April at the University of York.
The workshop is organized by Bio-based and Biodegradable Industries Association (BBIA) and hosted by BioVale, a British innovation cluster that aims to develop and encourage investments in the bio-economy in the Yorkshire area. The workshop’s mail goal is to understand the potential and challenges of bio-economy and industrial biotechnology in the UK, showcasing innovative projects and products on the market or under development.
Stefano Facco, NOVAMONT’s New Business Development Director, during the session "Looking abroad - examples of pro-Bioeconomy policies from the USA and from Europe", will illustrate the positive effects of the Italian policy landscape and the potential of the bio-economy model developed in Italy, based on bioplastics’ value chain in connection with the organic waste. A model that has already proven to generate constant improvements in terms of innovative technologies development, reconversion of industrial sites that are decommissioned or are no longer competitive and production of a wide range of products from renewable sources.
